Managing the Back to School Jitters

This workshop would benefit any parent with a child who worries about transitioning to school next month, has a history of school avoidance, complains of physical symptoms when school begins, will be transitioning to a new school this year, or school anxiety is very disruptive to your family.

Week one will target children where they will learn how anxiety works and what they can do about it. They will leave the 2-hour workshop with skills to manage their anxiety and can start practicing the skills immediately.

Week 2 will target parents to learn how to interrupt patterns of anxiety, techniques to use to get your child to school and remain at school, and how to collaborate with your child's school support team.

We intend for our target audience to be children entering grades 6-8 but are open to having more groups for different age groups if there is an interest/need.
